Empower with information and education
At the beginning of 2020, at Clariba we decided to find a way to materialize one of our values: WE LOOK OUT FOR OUR COMMUNITY. For weeks we were listing ideas, including the Minutes For A Cause initiative, a charity sports challenge (https://www.clariba.com/blog/20210128-minutes-for-a-cause-daniel-sagrera ). Another idea that emerged was to actively collaborate with an external organization that was aware and has access to real needs. Our goal was to collaborate as much as we could, but… with whom?
After some time talking to different organizations, we found AUCOOP. The Association of University Students for Cooperation made up of students and former students of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) who are in charge of carrying out local and international cooperation projects.
When we saw that they fit in with what we were looking for, we held some meetings to detect common points of collaboration, learn about the excellent work they do and their future actions. We finally found the way. They had an urgent need to fill for a project in Senegal: to send about 20 laptops to their renowned local partners to scale up a far-reaching educational project. Then, we started to work on getting the laptops.
One of the main objectives of the project is to promote social and economic change within the country's communities. Through information and education, it is intended to empower the local population, promote knowledge and digital growth, and thus support labor integration.
From here we want to thank the AUCOOP team and their local partners for the opportunity they gave us and their great work. We will keep in touch with the project to see how it evolves and to support where we can. As well as to thank all the colleagues that have been involved from the different Clariba offices.
If you want more details about the project or want to get involved, do not hesitate to contact us.
